![]() Fertilizer will despawn when left on the ground for too long.įertilizer is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen.įertilizer can be obtained in many different ways. Fertilizing crops makes them more valuable overall, and is a key component on merging crops (more on that later). ![]() No weeds will ever grow in top of existing crops, so there is no need to worry about that.Īs the name implies, fertilizer is used to fertilize crops. Similar to the ground, weeds get cleared at a rate proportional to the level of farming skill. However, if left unchecked, they will grow larger and more rampant. Weeds start out small, and can be quickly be cleared with a single click or just squishing them. ![]() In addition to all these phases, there are weeds that can cover tiles during any phase. This doesn't allow the player to directly plant on the soil however. The exception to this is the Resilience upgrade, which allows crops to spread onto default soil. Obviously, tilled land is the only phase that can support crops. Once the ground has been broken up, it can then sown with seeds. Doing this makes the soil last longer instead of needing to be re-tilled after every harvest. The exception to this is the Golden Hoe upgrade, which will make all soil the player tills into the better tilled state. The player is unable to do this directly, with one exception, but pigs and certain spouses are able to. When the ground is in the regular tilled state it can then be turned into the better tilled state. The rate of which the ground is broken up or tilled depends on the level of farming skill. The player's pickaxe amount is shown in the bottom left corner of the screen.
